Last updated: 15 September 2026

This page applies to the website operated by Arfatul Islam at www.arfatulislam.com (the “Site”). It is written so the Site can be reviewed for Google AdSense, advertising, and general visitor safety. By using the Site you agree to these terms and this privacy policy.

Terms and Conditions

1. Who we are

The Site is owned and operated by Arfatul Islam (“we”, “us”, “I”), a chef, author, educator, and researcher. The Site publishes culinary writing, courses, recipes, press, booking, and related professional services.

Contact: use the form at arfatulislam.com/contact or the booking page at arfatulislam.com/booking.

2. Using the Site

You may browse the Site for lawful, personal, and professional purposes. You agree not to:

  • break any applicable law or regulation
  • attempt to hack, scrape in an abusive way, overload, or disrupt the Site
  • post or transmit malware, spam, or harmful content
  • impersonate Arfatul Islam or misrepresent a connection with this Site
  • use course, recipe, or book content as if it were your original commercial product without permission
  • use the Site in any way that is unsafe for children or that promotes illegal activity

We may suspend access if these terms are abused.

3. Intellectual property

Text, photographs, video, recipes, course materials, branding, and design on the Site belong to Arfatul Islam or are used with permission. You may share links. You may not copy course modules, book text, or media for resale without written consent. Books purchased from Amazon, Rokomari, or other retailers remain subject to those stores’ terms.

4. Courses, books, and payments

Paid courses, calls, and products may be processed by Stripe or the retailer named at checkout (for example Amazon). Prices are shown before you pay. Digital course access is granted after successful payment. Refunds follow the policy stated at checkout or, if none is stated, a reasonable request made via the contact page within 14 days where the digital content has not been substantially consumed. Chargebacks made in bad faith may lead to access being withdrawn.

Booking a call does not create an employment, partnership, or agency relationship.

5. Information on the Site

Culinary, food-safety, and training material is educational. It is not a substitute for official certification bodies, local law, or medical or legal advice. Food hygiene practice must follow the rules of your country and employer. We do not warrant that the Site is uninterrupted or error-free.

6. Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law of England and Wales, Arfatul Islam is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the Site. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

7. Third-party links

The Site links to YouTube, Amazon, social networks, Stripe, booking tools, and other sites we do not control. Their terms and privacy rules apply when you leave this Site.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that you may have mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how it is used, and your rights. It is intended to meet the expectations of Google AdSense, UK GDPR, and the UK Data Protection Act 2018.

10. Data controller

Arfatul Islam is the data controller for this Site. To ask about your data, use the contact page.

11. What we collect

Depending on how you use the Site, we may process:

  • Identity and contact data you submit (name, email, message, booking details)
  • Payment metadata handled by Stripe or a retailer (we do not store full card numbers on this Site)
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device, approximate location derived from IP, pages viewed, referring URL
  • Cookies and similar identifiers used for analytics and advertising (see Ads & cookies below)

We do not ask for special-category data (health, religion, etc.) and you should not send it via the forms.

12. Why we use data

  • To operate, secure, and improve the Site (legitimate interests)
  • To answer enquiries and provide booking or course access (contract / steps prior to contract)
  • To process payments (contract)
  • To measure traffic and, where enabled, to show advertising including Google AdSense (consent and/or legitimate interests, as required)
  • To meet legal obligations (tax, accounting, law enforcement requests)

13. Cookies, Google AdSense, and advertising

This Site may use cookies and similar technologies. If Google AdSense or other Google advertising is enabled, Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this Site.

Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or the industry opt-out at aboutads.info/choices. Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland can also use Your Online Choices.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may show ads on this Site. Google AdSense uses the DoubleClick cookie and other identifiers. For details see Google’s Advertising policy and Google Privacy Policy.

We may also use privacy-respecting or standard analytics (for example to count page views). Analytics cookies, where used, help us understand which pages are useful. You can block cookies in your browser; some Site features may still work.

14. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:

  • Service providers who host the Site (including Framer) and process forms or email
  • Stripe or other payment processors when you buy
  • Google (AdSense, fonts, or analytics) as described above
  • Professional advisers or authorities if required by law

These parties act as processors or independent controllers under their own policies.

15. How long we keep data

Enquiry messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable follow-up period (normally up to 24 months), unless the law requires longer. Payment records are kept for tax and accounting periods. Cookie data follows the lifetime set by each cookie, which you can clear in your browser.

16. Children

The Site is aimed at adults and professional cooks. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it. We do not create content that is sexually explicit, that encourages self-harm, or that is designed to exploit children.

17. Your rights

If UK GDPR applies, you may ask to access, correct, delete, or restrict your data, object to certain processing, or request portability. You may also withdraw consent where we rely on it. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in the UK at ico.org.uk. To exercise rights, use the contact page and allow a reasonable time for us to verify and respond.

18. Security

We use HTTPS and reputable hosting. No method of transmission is completely secure. Do not send payment card numbers to us by email.

19. Safety and acceptable content

We do not publish hate speech, violent threats, illegal goods, or adult sexual content. Comments or messages that harass others, promote harm, or break the law may be removed and, if needed, reported. Advertising, when shown, is intended to follow Google AdSense programme policies, including prohibited content and dangerous products rules.

20. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy. The date at the top will change. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
